The community shop is a great place to shop!

It is also a great place to meet people from our local community, to connect with them and build relationships.

Why ‘The Mustard Tree’?

The Mustard tree is an image used in the Bible by Jesus to illustrate the Kingdom of God. In the story Jesus told, the mustard seed is the word of God proclaimed by Jesus. As it grows in the hearts and minds of men and women it brings hope and life eternal.

“How can I describe the Kingdom of Heaven? What story should I use to illustrate it? It is like a mustard seed planted in the ground. It is the smallest of all seeds, but it becomes the largest of all the garden plants; it grows long branches and birds can make a nest in its shade.” Gospel of Mark 4:30-32.

The Mustard Tree op shop in a similar fashion offers comfort, care and community to all. It is an expression of God’s love through God’s people as we care and provide for physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those we meet.

All Mustard Tree programs are supported by the income generated from the Community Shop & Cafe.
